Flavors of Mallorca

In Mallorca, ensaimadas and sobrasada are part of the island’s gastronomy. In fact, a large number of travelers decide to take it as a souvenir.

Ensaimadas:

The Ensaimada has been part of the gastronomy of the Balearic Islands for centuries. It is an iconic dessert from Mallorca that is made with flour, water, eggs, sugar, sourdough and lard (saïm), where its name comes from.

This sweet is a must if you visit the island.

We recommend Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo, one of the most emblematic places in Palma where you can enjoy the best ensaimadas of the island.

Sobrasada:

Sobrasada is a cured raw sausage that contains pork, black pepper and paprika and whose origins are in Sicily, Italy.

During the 16th century and thanks to maritime trade, it reached the Balearic Islands where its consumption became popular. Currently, its production is regulated so that it can be recognized as the authentic sobrasada.

You can’t leave without trying them!
